2015 YOY Emily RobinsonBGCD congratulates the 2015 Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas Youth of the Year Emily Robinson!  Emily is a 12-year member of the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club and volunteered over 220 hours at her Club as a junior staff member. Growing up in the Club, she says that BGCD is an important part of her life.  “The staff and managers at the Boys & Girls Club are extended family. They check on you. They are concerned about your progress and your well-being. This has been so helpful for me and is a driving force for me to succeed.”

Emily describes herself as ambitious, diplomatic and exuberant.  Her ambition was evident during her BGCD tenure.  She participated in academic camps, STEM, Math Blazers, Collegiate STEPS, Keystone Club, SMART Girls and Reading Explorers. Her volunteer services projects include organizing a donation drive for Texas tornado victims, serving meals at a local train station and hosting a bullying prevention workshop.  Emily also competes in track and field and swimming.

In the fall, Emily plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station to work towards her goal of becoming an orthopedic physician.
