Charles English photoYouth in underserved communities are at the heart of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas mission. This summer, BGCD was part of an exciting STEM pilot program with Imagine Science that aims to engage low-income and minority youth ages 8-14 in science, technology, engineering and math. Dallas was selected as one of three cities along with Omaha, NE and Orange County, CA, and BGCD implemented the program as part of the summer curriculum along with other local nonprofits. The cost to attend the two-week Imagine Science camp was $10, and DISD provided breakfast and lunch each day.

DISD provides many opportunities for students to study STEM subjects during the academic year. Imagine Science allows us to implement a complementing summer program for our members to enhance their STEM exposure. To learn more about this initiative, please visit www.imaginesci.org/dallas.
