“Nutrition and clean eating is a huge focus of The Prep Kitchen and its important for all ages” says Nick Corso, co-owner of The Prep Kitchen. “We’re honored to partner with Jourdan in serving the Boys & Girls Club”.
Once the meals were distributed, Jourdan then spent the rest of the evening hanging out with Club kids, signing autographs, playing cornhole, and giving sage advice to teens. Club kids showed there appreciation by creating drawings and thank you cards for Jourdan and his family.
When asked why he wanted to stop by Boys & Girls Club of Grand Prairie, Jourdan explained that he was once a Club kid and explained how he has benefited from Boys & Girls Club’s mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential through programs and services.
“My mom put me in the Boys & Girls Club and that’s where I first started playing sports. I have a lot of memories with Boys & Girls Club and you [Club kids] will make so many memories as well,” says Lewis.
The evening ended with Jourdan playing Madden NFL video games in the teen room with Omari Warren, a Club kid enrolled in the new e-sports tournament program. Lewis and Warren talked about sports strategies, life challenges and impactful Club experiences. “Don’t take this time [at Boys & Girls Club] for granted, Jourdan explains to Omari, “This is an amazing time in your life”.
