In only a few days, we will enter a New Year with renewed energy and drive to expand our programs to reach an increasing number of youth needing afterschool and enrichment programs.
At the onset of the pandemic, we made significant investments in the overall organization in preparation for what we believe to be a rapid ramp-up of membership attendance. True to our mission, we will continue to strive to meet the needs of our youth to enable them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
In 2020-2021, BGCD successfully positioned itself to ensure our future growth to serve more youth with these impactful investments:
- Recruitment and retention of a highly-skilled workforce as we expand to more school-based sites with public schools with a goal of reducing learning loss due to the pandemic.
- Investment in a broad range of technologies to expand virtual learning, professional development, internet access, data tracking, accounting, and resource development.
- Expanded and leveraged resources with major stakeholders like United Way of Greater Dallas, Bank of America, Junior League of Dallas, Urban Land Institute Builders to Leaders, The Dallas Foundation, Dallas Independent School District, and our national corporate partners.
- Lastly, and most importantly, continued investments in the safety of our youth!
Even while operating in the challenging environment created by COVID-19, we have taken time over the past two years to plan out a three-year strategic plan. Great things lie ahead for 2022!
As we close out another great year of both opportunities and challenges, I invite you to join Boys & Girls of Clubs Greater Dallas as we embark on a new year…to Grow with Impact.
Whatever It Takes,
Charles English, President & CEO
