Through a generous $25,000 gift, Michaels supported renovations to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas’ (BGCD) Richardson site to create a new art room through their MAKE Space initiative. This new space will encourage Club kids to reach their creative potential in a room where imagination has no limit.
“I am a strong believer that creativity opens doors,” Cherri Rowe, said BGCD Vice President of Programs. “Our Richardson Clubhouse serves children from an underserved area. Taking kids from a high-risk environment and exposing them to art allows them to see the opportunities available to them.”
Richardson Boys and Girls Club is excited to leverage Michaels’ generosity in creating an art room to make an even better, more positive place for kids and teens to develop into future leaders of our communities.
“I hope the new art room will not only broaden their horizons for art but to creativity as well,” said Latriace Wicks-Williams, Richardson BGC Site Director.
BGCD is proud to be a part of the new national partnership between Michaels and Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s – which supports Clubs around the country with upgraded spaces, critical supplies, and enhanced skills for Club staff.
