Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) is pleased to announce and welcome Cecillia Rivas as our new Vice President of Finance. Cecillia will be responsible for BGCD’s overall financial and strategic management, including the organization’s financial reporting and long-range fiscal planning.
Cecillia Rivas most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for United Way of Central New Mexico (UWCNM). She was responsible for providing strong financial leadership and prudent fiscal stewardship; promoting a culture of customer service and collaboration with internal staff and external constituents; and advising senior leadership and the Board of Directors on plans to achieve UWCNM’s goals and objectives. Additionally, Cecillia served as head of human resources for the organization.
Cecillia brings to BGCD more than 25 years of successful finance and budgeting leadership experience in the nonprofit, public, and corporate sectors. Prior to joining BGCD, Cecillia was an Outsourced Controller for CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP, Albuquerque, NM. Here, she provided executive-level accounting services for several local nonprofits and a large commercial real estate company.
Additionally, Cecillia has held key finance positions with The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, Community of Hope, and Rutter Financial.
Cecillia earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from Southern Nazarene University and earned her Certified Public Accountant Certificate in 1994.
Cecillia is a long-standing volunteer for several nonprofits and formerly served as President of the Board for Meals on Wheels of Central New Mexico.
She has been married for 36 years and has four children. Cecillia’s hobbies include cooking, singing, and playing the piano.
