On November 13, 2014 at 4:00 p.m., the Oak Cliff Boys & Girls Club will unveil a brand new game room thanks to a $16,500 Triple Play grant. The grant provided much-needed updates in equipment and supplies for the Club’s game room which is the central hub for kids to learn about team work, getting along with others and leadership.
The opening of the new room is made possible locally through the support of Amerigroup Foundation and includes areas where kids can play educational games, fun physical activities and spaces where kids can create and form friendships.
Triple Play is Boys & Girls Clubs signature health and wellness program focused on the mind, body and soul to teach kids about living a healthy lifestyle. Since 2005, Triple Play has made connections with more than 9.2 million kids around the country.
The Triple Play program motivates kids to be healthy by providing nutrition and health education, more access to healthy foods, and encouraging avoidance of risky behaviors and a lifelong commitment to fitness. With the addition of the Club’s newest activity room, kids will have the opportunity to celebrate active, healthy living and continue building strong relationships with their peers and Club mentors.
