BGCD Promotes Swimming Ability with Remodeled Pool, Supporting Minority Communities

As summer approaches and temperatures rise, communities nationwide are gearing up for summer.

For Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, we ensure that our Club members, regardless of background, can learn a vital skill—swimming.

Statistics reveal that minority communities, particularly African American and Hispanic populations, continue to face disproportionately low swimming abilities. This disparity significantly increases the risk of drowning, with minority children being at a much greater risk. This serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of equipping all children with swimming skills to ensure their safety and well-being.

In response to this critical need, our fully-remodeled pool at our Oak Cliff  Club gives our kids the ability to learn this crucial skill. This state-of-the-art facility has been designed with the safety and enjoyment of our members in mind, featuring modern amenities that provide an optimal environment for learning and recreational swimming.

In addition to our renovated pool, we are proud to partner with the YMCA to offer comprehensive swim lessons!

We invite our community to join us in recognizing the importance of swimming education and water safety. By providing access to quality facilities and professional instruction, BGCD is committed to closing the gap in swimming ability and significantly impacting the lives of minority children.

Together, we can ensure that every child can enjoy the benefits of swimming, stay safe in the water, and grow into confident, capable individuals!
