On June 29, 2018, approximately 138 Club teens came together at our Grand Prairie Club location for the sole purpose of making a pledge to graduate from high school. With the desire for them to think beyond high school, our Club teens were able to chat with and receive information from the following organizations: University of North Texas, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Phoenix, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Navy.
All of this would not be possible without the support of the Taco Bell Foundation. Earlier this year, the Taco Bell Foundation awarded Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) with a grant totaling $15,500. This grant provided BGCD with the tools and resources needed to recruit, impact, and retain teens through programs like Collegiate STEPS, Youth of the Year, and Keystone Clubs.
“We founded the Taco Bell Foundation to invest in youth and to ignite their futures, starting with graduation. These youth are our customers, friends, employees and our future leaders,” said Frank Tucker, Chief People Officer at Taco Bell and President for the Taco Bell Foundation. “Our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America provides an opportunity to deliver on our commitment to ensure youth are empowered to graduate from high school and go onto pursue their dreams. We’re proud of the effort put forth by every youth being honored at this wonderful event.”
