Winter Storm Resources

Due to the winter weather, many families in the DFW have been left without electricity, food, and consumable water. We’ve compiled the list below for resources available to those in need.

City of Dallas Emergency Water Distribution

City of Mesquite Water Distribution

The City of Mesquite will be distributing bottled water to affected residents until February 26, while supplies last. . For more information, please visit their Twitter page by clicking here

 

Free Water Stations (DFW)

North Texas Food Bank Mobile Pantry 

The North Texas Food Bank has scheduled a couple of mobile pantries for those in need. For locations and times, please click here.

 

How to Apply for Disaster Assistance with FEMA

Texas homeowners and renters who suffered damage from the recent winter storm can now apply for disaster assistance with FEMA. To begin the recovery process: 

  1. Take photos of your damaged home and belongings. 
  2. Make a list of lost or damaged items. 
  3. Apply online at disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA App, or call (800) 621- 3363/ TTY: (800) 242- 7585

You will also need to provide proof of identification, an insurance determination letter, and proof of occupancy or ownership. 

 

Please note: If you have insurance, you must file your claim through your insurance company. FEMA cannot provide assistance for losses that are covered by insurance.
